Quietly drowning in each other’s embrace, lulled to gentle sleep—a simple stifling complacence. Here, the harsh currents of the outside world are woven into a mirage-like illusion of safety, tamed into a drowsy daze of comfort and stagnation. Here, there is no passionate progress, no violent winds to provide a direction. Lazily adrift, time moves forward but brings no change, until through the undulating thick of smoke come surges of turbulence—and sentience finally rises up, ruptures the trance.
